Research chemicals sold as RUO are explicitly outside this pathway. They are manufactured and sold for laboratory research, not for administration to humans or animals.
This distinction is what allows companies like Vantage Aminos to sell peptides that have not completed FDA approval processes. The RUO classification keeps these compounds in a legitimate research supply channel.
What it requires from buyers
Purchasing RUO compounds carries legal and ethical obligations. You confirm at checkout that you are 21 or older, that you are buying for research purposes, and that the material will not be used for human consumption. These are not formalities. They define the legal relationship between you, the supplier, and the regulatory framework.
Misrepresenting intended use to obtain RUO compounds for personal use is fraud. It also exposes the entire research supply chain to enforcement action.
What RUO does not mean
RUO does not mean unregulated, untested, or unsafe by design. Legitimate RUO suppliers test every batch at an accredited laboratory and maintain full lot traceability. The classification covers legal use, not quality. A compound can be RUO and still be tested to pharmaceutical-grade purity standards.
RUO also does not protect buyers who misuse it. The classification applies to the transaction and the stated purpose. Using an RUO compound outside a research setting does not gain protection from the label.
